WHAT ZORA IS AND WHAT IT DOES

ZORA is a universal media registry protocol. It’s a way for creators to publish creative media, earn money on their work, and have others build and share what they create.

Technically, the Zora Network is a fast, cost-efficient and scalable Layer 2 network built to help anyone bring media onchain. Layer 2 (L2) refers to a separate network that extends the capabilities of Ethereum while allowing users to leverage its advantages and introduce improvements and enhancements. Zora Network allows for the following:

• Transaction confirms in seconds
• Minting an NFT costs less than $0.50

Zora Network is built on the open-source OP Stack, maintained by the Optimism Collective. You can learn more about the OP Stack here. Although Zora developed and released the Zora Network software, Zora does not operate the Zora Network itself.
